- Start pouring the yam flour and keep on stirring
- Allow to cook
- Yam flour is ready
- Wash your meat and put in a pot
- Slice your onion into it
- Blend your pepper and put into it
- Put your maggi
- Add water and allow to cook
- When the meat is boiled,remove the meat from the water
- Start pouring your dried okro and keep stirring it till it becomes thick and start drawing
- Allow to cook for sometime then drop it
- Amala(yam flour) and Dried okro soup is ready
Amala is popularly eaten with Ewedu (Jute leaf soup), Gbegiri (beans soup) or Ogbono/Apon (African wild mango soup). Amala is made from yam flour (Elubo) and is a Nigerian Cuisine mostly eaten by the Yorubas especially the people of Oyo state.
