But it's so convenient and You may use any bread for this upma. I had some white bread at home and that's what I used in this. Bread upma, is one of the easiest snack that we can make. This can be made using left over / fresh bread, this upma is favorite among kids especially when served with ketchup.
Steps to make Bread Upma:
- In a heating pan add 2 tablespoon of Oil and allow to heat.
- Then add ½ tsp of Mustard seeds, ¼ tsp of Cumin Seeds, ¼ tsp of Hing, 1 tsp of chopped Green Chillies, few Curry Leaves, 1 ½ tsp of Urad Dal, 2 tsp of Peanuts and sauté for 1 Min.
- Then add ¼ tsp of Sesame Seeds (Til), ¼ cup of chopped Onions and cook for another 1 Min.
- Add ¼ cup of chopped Tomatoes and mix well.
- Then add ½ tsp of Turmeric Powder (Haldi), ½ tsp of Red Chilli Powder, ½ tsp of Salt, 1 tsp of - Sugar and sauté the spices for half a minute.
- Furthermore, add 3 cup of mixer grinded Bread and mix well.
- Add 1 tsp of Lemon Juice, sprinkle 2 tsp of Water and mix well.
- Cover the lid and simmer on medium flame for 2 Min.
- Lastly add 2 tsp of chopped Coriander Leaves and mix well.
- For serving, grease the serving bowl with Ghee, pour Upma into the bowl and unmold on serving plate.
- Garnishing with Sev and serve hot.
