Steps to make Paneer tikka masala gravy:
- For tikka mix all the dry spices powder in the curd.
- Diced up onion,capsicum and cut cheese cubes. Mix in the marination, cover with cling film and keep aside for 15 min.
- Boil tomato and cashewnut for 10min till tomato skin peel out. Slice the onion and fry till golden brown, make a paste of both.
- Take all the spices mix little water to make a paste.
- In a kadai add oil and all ground spices saute for 30 sec and add onion paste.
- Cook till oil seperated, now add masala paste and tomato puree.
- Cook for 5-7min at low flame with lid, add 1/2 glass water and again cook for 10 min.
- Roast on tawa or griller paneer tikka and add in the gravy.
- Add 1/2 glass water in a leftover marination and mix in the gravy cook it for 5-7min without lid.
- At the end add green chilli,coriander and kasuri methi. Serve with your favourite indian bread and salad.
I have made this Paneer Tikka Masala twice already since attempting it the first time (sad story: lost my pictures again! I used fresh cream for giving this gravy some creaminess but for a low calorie version, use beaten curd/yogurt. For making this vegan, use tofu instead of paneer/cottage cheese. Paneer Tikka Masala, a marinated paneer cubes grilled to perfection and then cooked in spicy gravy, is delicious in every bite.
