The ingredients needed to make Dal puri:
  1. Prepare 1 cup All purpose flour
  2. Take 1 cup Wheat flour
  3. Make ready 1 pinch Carom seeds

Learn how to make/prepare Dal Puri by following this easy recipe. Chana Dal Puri or Dal Puri (poori) is traditional, authentic Uttar Pradesh/Bihar recipe made during Dussehra/Dasara in our home. This is called Chana Dal Puri but it's actually made as stuffed paratha. Dal Puri is a Bengali recipe which is like the normal Puri but is stuffed with Bengal gram mixture.

Instructions to make Dal puri:
  1. Wash and soak chana dal for 4 - 5 hours and strain it
  2. Heat oil in a pressure cooker and sprinkle cumin seeds to crackle.
  3. Add Bengal gram/chana dal,turmeric powder,red chilli powder,ginger paste and two cup of water and steam it.
  4. When cooker release the whistle sim the flame for 10 mins.
  5. When water get absorb in Bengal gram/chana dal mash it.
  6. Add salt,garam masala powder and green chilli.
  7. Now stuffing is ready.
  8. Take a bowl add all purpose flour,wheat flour,salt,carom seeds,onion seeds,salt and two tbsp oil and mix well.
  9. With the help of water to make a soft dough.
  10. Cover the dough and keep aside for 15 mins.
  11. Divide the dough into equal size balls.
  12. Sprinkle little flour and roll them to approximately2.5 inch diameter.
  13. Heat oil in a pan and add the puri,lower the heat and fry till light brown.
  14. Serve hot with kheer.
