- Get 2 cups basmati or biryani rice
- Get 2 tbsp curd
- Take 1 medium sized onion(finely sliced and fried)

- Prepare 1 tbsp ginger paste
- Prepare 1 tbsp garlic paste
- Prepare 1 tbsp ghee

- Take 1/2 tsp sugar
- Make ready 1/4 cup tomato puree
- Take 2 green chillies
- Get For Whole spices
- Make ready 1-2 bay leaf

- Take 4 green cardamom
- Get 1 small cinnamon stick
- Make ready 2 cloves
- Take 2-3 dry red chillies
- Make ready 1/2 tsp jeera
Paneer Biryani Instant Pot recipe is very delicious, flavorful and easy one pot rice recipe prepared from paneer ,whole spices, biryani masala and the long grain basmati rice. Flavorful Paneer Biryani made in the Instant Pot! Paneer Biryani made in the Instant Pot - this one pot meal has basmati rice cooked with paneer (Indian cottage cheese) and fragrant spices. And that is this Paneer Dum Biryani.
Instructions to make Paneer biryani:
- Firstly, heat a pan. Add 2 tsp oil and fry the paneer cubes until golden brown. Now transfer the fried panner cubes into a bowl, add water, pinch of salt and 1/2 tsp turmeric powder. Keep aside for a while.
- Now meanwhile, in a bowl add 2 cups rice, water and 2 green cardamoms. Keep on gas stove for boiling. Once the rice is 90% cooked, drain the water and keep aside.
- Now heat a pan, add 1-2 tsp oil. Add all the whole spices and saute for few seconds. Now add onion paste and saute for few seconds. Now add ginger paste, garlic paste, turmeric powder, salt, chilli powder (both red chilli powder), coriander powder, biryani masala and mix well. Saute for few minutes until masala is cooked and raw flavour is gone. Now add tomato puree and saute for few minutes on low to medium flame. Add curd, mix well. Now add the panner cubes (after draining the turmeric water).
- Now add 1/2 cup water, add sugar and keep on low to medium flame. Occasionally stir until consistency become dry. Switch off the flame and keep aside.
- Take a deep bottomed vessel (or a vessel whose bottom is not too thin). On a low flame, place the vessel. Add 1 tsp oil. Add first layer of rice(refer pic 2). Now add 1/2 portion of paneer curry/preparation and then cover with another layer of rice (as mention in pic3 and pic4). Add 1/2 tbsp ghee, 1 tbsp saffron milk, 1/2 portion of fried onions. Now add another layer of paneer (as pic5), add green chillies
- . Cover with another layer of rice, add ghee, saffron milk and fried onions (as in pic6).
- Cover the lid and keep on low flame (keep on dum) for 10 minutes and switch off the flame. Keep covered for another 5 minutes. Biryani is ready. Serve with raita and salad
