- Fill a cast iron pan with about 2-3 inches of oil. Heat over medium heat. You can see if the oil is ready by throwimg a little breading in there. If it starts bubbling and jumping around you're good to go.
- Once you've breaded about two handfuls of onions throw them into the hot oil. Well don't throw, drop carefully. We already lost one finger to this recipe. Lets not give you first degree burns. Anywyays, don't wait until you finish breading all the onions to fry them, theyll start to make one big mass of dough covered onions.
- You're only gonna fry for about 30 seconds, until golden brown.
- Remove the strings using a spider pr slotted spoon. Place on a paper towel covered plate. Rinse and repeat until you've made all the onion straws
