- Get 1 Cup boiled rice
- Make ready 4 tbsp sesame seeds

- Take 1 tbsp Mustard seeds

Instructions to make Ellu Sadam or Sesame Rice:
- Dry roast Sesame seeds,Chillies,4-5 Curry leaves,2tbsp of Urad and Chana daal.Once they start to change colour and start giving nice aroma Switch off the flame and transfer onto a plate.Let it cool down for some time and then blend into a semi fine powder.
- To prepare tadka heat a heavy bottomed pan and add oil to it.Add mustard seeds.Once they start to crackle add 1/2tbsp of chana daal and 1/2tbsp of urad daal.Add curry leaves and a pinch of hing.Saute till daal become golden brown.
- Add boiled rice and the prepared sesame powder to it.Add salt.Give it a nice mix.Switch off the flame.Serve hot.
Easy and flavorful, can make quickly and healthy too. I had included ellu sadam in my aadi perukku lunch. Ellu sadam is a very simple rice recipe which we generally during the Saturdays of the tamil month Puratasi. If you feel the sesame seeds are bit dirt, wash this nicely and drain the water and dry in a cloth. Sesame seeds rice is a delicious, wholesome and easy to make dish from south Indian cuisine.
