  1. Take 3 tsp oil/ ghee
  2. Prepare 1 bay leaf
  3. Take 1 star anise

  15. Take 1 tsp kasuri methi / dry fenugreek leaves
  16. Prepare 2 tbsp coriander leaves
  17. Get 2 tbsp mint leaves
  18. Get 1 tsp salt
  19. Take 2 cup water
  20. Prepare 1 cup chickpea / chana, soaked overnight and boiled 10 minutes
  21. Take 1 cup basmati rice, soaked 20 minutes
Steps to make Chole Pulao:
  1. In a pressure cooker heat oil and saute bay leaf, star anise, cloves, cinnamon and jeera till it turns aromat.
  2. Saute onion till golden brown, then add ginger garlic paste and saute few seconds then add chopped tomatoes and saute few minutes.
  3. Then add turmeric powder, chilli powder, coriander powder, chana masala powder, garam masala, kasuri methi and salt. saute well.
  4. Now add soaked and boiled chickpea, mint and coriander leaves and saute for a minute.
  5. Then add basmati rice (soaked for 20 minutes) and saute gently. - now add 2 cup water and stir well. - cover and pressure cook for 1 whistles.
  6. Finally, garnish with coriander leaves and serve chana pulao along with any raita or any veg or non veg curry.
