  4. Add soda into batter and mix well. Add into greased thali, season with black pepper powder. Steam for 8-10 min on medium flame.

We call this safed dhokla aka white dhokla. Because on occasion we make yellow colored dhokla where chana dal is used. So the color name used to differentiate both.
