- Take Rapeseed Oil Spray
- Get 250-300 gm 5° fat Mince Beef
- Make ready 1 large Onion chopped
- Get 2 cloves grated garlic
- Take Worcestershire sauce
- Make ready 1/2 Red Pepper chopped
- Take 1/2 Green Pepper chopped
- Take 1/3 pk Taco flavouring 10gms
- Make ready 1 pk Mexican Flavoured Rice (Microwave type)
Mix together beef mince and finely chopped onion. Heat a dash of oil in a lidded frying pan and brown the meatballs. Pour over Wattie's Mexican Style Tomatoes and stir in Wattie's Mexican Style Beans. Use turkey mince to make burgers, curries, Bolognese, meatballs and more.
Steps to make Mexican Mince (My Version):
- Spray pan with oil add mince and fry till redness all turned to brown. Sprinkle with Worcestershire Sauce. I cover in between adds and stirs.
- Add onions, cook for about 5 mins, add grated garlic and chopped peppers. Cook for about 7-8 mins stirring occasionally. If at any point you feel its drying out add 2 tblsp warm water, not oil.
- When the onions start to go soft its time to add the Taco seasoning. Mix through. I don't use too much as the rice is fairly spicy.
- Add the rice. There are usually lumps of rice. Go through and squash into the meat. Add 2 tbsp warm water and keep mixing until completely combined. Cover and cook for 1 min.
As well as being a lean, low-fat meat, it's budget-friendly and quick to cook. Turkey mince, spiralized courgette, feta and mint give these burgers a healthier profile.
