The ingredients needed to make Sambhar Dosa:
  1. Make ready 1/2 cup Split pigeon peas (tuvar dal/arhar dal) soaked
  2. Prepare 1/4 cup Turmeric powder
  3. Make ready 4 tablespoons Oil
  4. Prepare 1 lemon sized ball Tamarind
  5. Get 1/2 teaspoon Mustard seeds
  6. Make ready 4 Whole dry red chillies broken
  7. Take 1/2 teaspoon Fenugreek seeds (methi dana)
  8. Take 1/4 teaspoon Asafoetida
  9. Make ready 3-4 Green chillies -
  10. Take 2 1/2 inch pieces 2 Drumsticks
  11. Prepare 10-12 Curry leafs -
  12. Get 1 1/2 teaspoon Sambhar powder
  13. Take to taste Salt
  14. Get DOSA ingredients :-
  15. Make ready 3/4 cups Parboiled rice soaked for 4-5 hours
  16. Get 1 cup Split skinless black gram (urad dal) soaked for 4-5 hours,
  17. Get 1/4 cup Short-grained raw rice soaked for 4-5 hours,
  18. Take 1 teaspoon Fenugreek seeds (methi dana) soaked
  19. Get to taste Salt

Like idlis and dosas, Sambhar is also an all-time favourite that is almost synonymous with south Indian food! From the smallest roadside hotel to the classiest Indian restaurants around the globe, 'Idli, Vada. Vada sambar and idli sambar are popular for breakfast or an evening snack in the south Indian states. Sambar is also served as a side dish for dosa.

Steps to make Sambhar Dosa:
  1. Pressure-cook the dal in two and half cups of water with turmeric powder and one teaspoon oil for three whistles. Open lid once the pressure has reduced. Mash the cooked dal lightly with a wooden spoon.
  2. Soak tamarind in one-cup warm water, extract pulp and set aside. Heat the remaining oil in a thick-bottomed pan. Add mustard seeds. When they splutter add dry red chillies, fenugreek seeds and asafoetida.
  3. Stir and add green chillies, curry leaves and drumsticks and cook for one minute on medium heat stirring briefly.
  4. Add sambhar powder, salt and one cup water. Reduce heat and simmer for six to eight minutes or till drumsticks are cooked. Add tamarind pulp, boiled dal and simmer for two to three minutes.
  5. DOSA : - Combine parboiled rice, black gram, raw rice and fenugreek seeds in a grinder jar. Grind well into a smooth and thick batter using water as required, little by little.
  6. Transfer batter into a bowl and set aside to ferment for 8 hours. Add salt, mix well and use as required.
  7. Coconut chutney ~~~~~~~~ firstly, keep all the grinding ingredients ready. take coconut, roasted chana dal, roasted peanuts, onions and chilli.
  8. Furthermore, transfer to a small blender.also add a small piece of tamarind. additionally, add salt to taste. then add hot water as required and blend to smooth cream texture. finally, add tempering and serve with dosass……&……idlisss
