  11. Get 3-4 Kashmiri dry red chillies
  12. Get Handful curry leaves
  13. Get 1/2 teaspoon Cumin seeds
  14. Prepare 4-5 Garlic pods chopped
  15. Take As needed Oil for cooking

  1. Firstly wash & soak all these three kulfa chopped & kept in cold water, dal masoor washed & soaked in warm water, tamarind also washed & soaked in warm water
  2. In a pressure cooker add in all the ingredients the spices the all soaked things,chopped tomatoes add a cup of water & cover the lid cook till 2-3 whistles maximum make sure it does not get burnt at the bottom &you need to add tamarind just like as soaked the solid one it will get cooked in it.
  3. Once you open the lid then slowly using a masher mash the dal & everything in it will be slightly mashed now if you want to add some water you can adjust for consistency but usually this will be medium thick lastly do the tempering part in another pan just add some oil add the tempering ingredients sauté for only two minutes off the flame then pop in the katli prepared immediately cover the lid & let it rest for 5 minutes
  4. And the delicious kulfa katli is ready to enjoy with regular wheat flour chapatis,white rice & grilled items or fish is a perfect meal for the day with all healthy menu on your plate..!!
  5. Tip of the day: before doing the tempering sprinkle some red chilli powder roughly it gives good look to the tempering & do not use more oil in this recipe hardly two tablespoons even then it soakes easily in curry while the tempering is done you give a stirr it will be all mixed in it..! So all green & healthy dish.
