  3. As the masala starts smelling add the deals and continue stirring adding salt and sugar.Cook till the masala gets dried roasted.
  4. In the meantime chop the onions finely and dry grind whole garammasala.Soak the saffron strings in milk.
  5. Set aside the roasted dals. In a deep based container heat ghee and add onions.Stir fry till the onions turn crisp golden brown.
  6. Gradually add the rice in the container. Add the roasted dals, saffroned milk and garam masala powder
  7. Thereafter add salt sugar and rose water and keep the container with a closed lid on a low flame for 10 minutes.
  8. Turn off the flame and open the lid.Turn upside down all the ingredient s and serve hot with raitas,burhannis or your favourite dip.
  9. Note:You may add potatoes and dry fruit in the dish if you wish.Thank you.
