- Prepare 2 tbsp oil

Add turmeric powder to the oil. Fry the onions with little salt till it becomes soft. Put the required extra salt, and all powders. Snake gourd recipe - Snake gourd is a vegetable used in Indian cuisine and goes by the name padawal in hindi, potlakaya in telugu and pudalangai in tamil.
Steps to make Snake gourd masala fry:
- Wash the snake gourds, very well, peel off the skin after removing the two ends.
- Chop the gourd to 3 pieces and each to two, longitudinally.
- Remove the inner seeds and white parts. Then chop them as shown in photo.
- Heat 2 tbsp oil in a wok. - Add and crackle ponch phoran. Then fry urad and chana dal,till golden brown,on low heat.
- Then add chopped green chili and whole red chili. Sauté for some seconds.
- Then add curry leaves and sauté till dried. Add grated ginger and sauté for few seconds.
- Transfer the chopped gourd to the wok. Add salt and turmeric powder. Mix well, cover and cook on low flame till the veggies become soft.
- Now add sambar powder and grated coconut. Mix well and cook on medium flames, till remaining water dried up. - - Serve hot with steamed rice and sambar. - Thanks
