This is called Chana Dal Puri but it's actually made as stuffed paratha. Dal Puri is a Bengali recipe which is like the normal Puri but is stuffed with Bengal gram mixture.

  1. Take one cup of chana dal and wash it. Then put it in a pressure cooker and cook it till one whistle. Then take it out and keep it aside to cool down.

  3. Take maida in a bowl add salt and two tablespoons of oil in it. Then knead it with water. Rub some oil over the dough. Rest the dough for half an hour.
  4. Now in a pan take green cardamom, cloves, cinnamon, cumin, coriander, black pepper, fennel. Dry roast the spices and grind it into a fine powder.
  5. Add this powder in dal mixture add salt and sugar in it.
  6. Divide the dough into small balls. Take one ball flatten it and fill with one tablespoon of dal mixture. Seal it. Roll it out.
  7. Heat oil in a kadhai fry the puries untill golden brown in colour.
  8. Serve it with dum aalu.
