If you have grown up in Mumbai, then you will remember the big fluffy yellow khaman dhoklas that were a staple in most street food. We call this safed dhokla aka white dhokla. Because on occasion we make yellow colored dhokla where chana dal is used. So the color name used to differentiate both.

Instructions to make Yellow dhokla:
  1. First soak rice and moong dal in water for 1 hour.
  2. Then remove the water.
  3. Now add rice and moong dal in mixture jar and also add curd,green chillies and make it a fine paste.
  4. Now add salt and water.
  5. The batter is ready.
  6. Now take a steamer and add water in it and wait untill the water is boil.
  7. Now grease the dhokla plate with oil and add eno in the batter.
  8. Now add the batter into the dhokla plate and put it in the the steamer for 15 minutes. After putting it in the steamer add a pinch of red chilli powder.
  9. Add salt to taste.
