  2. Take 1 cup idli rice
  3. Take 1/2 cup grated coconut
  4. Get 1/2 tea spoon sugar
  5. Prepare to taste Salt
  6. Get 1/4 Teaspoon soda
  7. Prepare For greasing Coconut Oil
  8. Get For stew:-
  9. Make ready 1 sliced onion
  10. Make ready 2 cup mixed vegetable(beans, carrot, capsicum, potato,coliflwer
  11. Take 1/4 cup green peas
  12. Get 3 green chiili
  13. Prepare 1 inch ginger Julian cut
  14. Prepare to taste Salt
  15. Get 1 tbsp Coconut oil
  16. Take 10 curry leaves
  17. Take 2 cup Coconut thin milk
  18. Take 1/2 cup thick coconut milk
  19. Take 1 cup water
  20. Get 3 cloves
  21. Make ready 2 small pieces Cinnamon
  22. Prepare 3 green cardamom

I used only carrot, potato and baby beans. You can make only with potato too. Appam cookes very fast, so you can make hot for your family when ever they sit for having breakfast. Breakfast with appam, vegetable stew and sweetened coconut milk.

Steps to make Appam with vegetable stew:
  1. Soak idli rice for 4 hr.
  2. Grind grated coconut and idli rice.
  3. Keep it side for 8 hr..
  4. Add salt, sugar and soda and water.
  5. Mix it gently. It will be pouring consetency.
  6. Take appam pan. heat appam pan over medium flame and pour a ladlefull of batter into the pan.
  7. Immediately twirl the pan to spread the batter in a circle motion.
  8. Cover and simmer for about 2 minutes.
  9. Remove appam from the pan.
  10. For vegetable stew:-
  11. Cut all vegetable in small cubes.
  12. Take pan. Heat 1/2 teaspoon coconut oil. Add cloves, cinnamon and cardamom.
  13. Add onion, green chilli, curyy leaves, ginger.saute for a minutes.
  14. Now add all vegetable and green peas.
  15. Saute for a minute.
  16. Add one cup water and salt.
  17. Boil it till vegetable half cooked.
  18. Now add coconut thin milk.
  19. Boil it again till vegetable complet cook.
  20. Now again add coconut thick milk, coconut oil, curry leaves. Mix it well. Off flame.
  21. Vegetable stew is ready to serve with appam.

Recently i came across the recipe of Vegetable stew in one of my old cook book and i find it similar to one of my bookmarked recipes from here I enjoyed the stew with rotis too. In the original recipe they used green peas also. since i don't have green peas in hand i didn't add. Vegetable stew recipe with coconut milk is a traditional Kerala style mild curry served with appam. Delicately spiced, mild, fragrant with chock full of veggies is veg stew for you! It is an experience in itself to feast on a plate of lacy appam and stew, a bowl of coconut milk doesn't hurt too!
